Mallee Cliffs National Park

South-west NSW, 25 km east of Mildura

Mallee Cliffs National Park protects extensive areas of flat to undulating sandy red plains and linear sand dunes formed during arid periods from 350,000 to 500,000 years ago. It contains various ecological communities and is home to the endangered Mallee Fowl. Public access is restricted to education and research purposes. Several species of macropods, emus and small birds are found in the area. The park is adjacent to Mungo National Park.

The entire 57,969 hectares of Mallee Cliffs National Park were purchased by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, preserving the habitat of the endangered Mallee Fowl.
