December Update from Peter Waterhouse
On Friday 2nd Nov we made a start on removing Lantana from a selected forest area. Immediately we found "buried" treasure in the form of native species surviving under the thickets. The Bush Regen Contractor, Chris Scott was pleased to be operating in a fully forested situation where immediate results can be expected.
I'll take another series of photos of this area when the cut Lantana has died down.
We have a date to complete the Grant Project on 15th and 16th. And will take some more photos.
It's not easy to show the guage of the work in a forest, but in the day we would have completed preliminary removal of Lantana over an area of at least a hectare. We worked up into an area that I do not recall having visited before !! It's a big forest and not easy to stroll about in.
Regards
Peter Waterhouse
