Triplarina Nature Reserve is located adjacent to the growing urban area of West Nowra.
Foundation funds of $10,600 to the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) enabled the development, manufacture and installation of nine interpretive signs in Triplarina Nature Reserve. These signs will help visitors understand the values of the reserve, particularly the threatened Triplarina nowraensis and the threats that face the area.
In addition to protecting threatened species, including the threatened plant Triplarina nowraensis, the reserve provides valuable urban respite for local residents.
The principle objective is to increase awareness of the natural and cultural values of the reserve amongst neighbours and visitors. This will assist in limiting current levels of illegal activity including collection of firewood, dumping of rubbish and garden waste and operation of four wheel drives and motorcycles.
