Funding from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife acquired 1,400 hectares, which lifted Warrabah Nature Reserve to the status of Warrabah National Park.
One of few inland river parks in NSW, Warrabah National Park provides an important native refuge in a largely cleared area.
Ridges and isolated granite boulders line a scenic section of the Namoi River before it meets the western Plains.
The park protects many vegetation species, such as Red Stringybark, Rough-Barked Apple and Quinn's Mallee. Grey Kangaroos, Swamp Wallabies, Wallaroos, and native Marsupial Mice also live in the park.
The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife is the only organisation in Australia whose philanthropy is an investment in our public estate, for all to enjoy.
