Tinderry Nature Reserve in the Southern Tablelands contains the Tinderry Range. Huge granite monoliths and mountain peaks make up some of the dramatic scenery of this area, contrasting with the cleared and undulating hills east of Michelago.

Remote sections of the Queanbeyan River form the eastern boundary of the Tinderry Nature Reserve.

The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife received an inholding of 80 hectares in this area. It is now belongs to the national reserve system and part of the surrounding Tinderry Nature Reserve. This inholding consolidated this protected area for the benefit of many native plant and animal species, and for future generations to enjoy.

The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife is the only organisation in Australia whose philanthropy is an investment in our public estate, for all to enjoy.
