Dural Nature Reserve is west of Hornsby. Created in January 2003, it covers an area of 26 hectares. It is 26 km north-west of Sydney.
Dural Nature Reserve is an untouched bird heaven in the heart of suburban Sydney. It contains diverse vegetation ranging from tall Angophora and Ironbark to Hakeas and spiky shrubs.
These different vegetation types provide habitats for many native species including King Parrots, Azure Kingfishers, Eastern Whipbird, Golden Whistlers, Little Thornbills and Rufous Fantails.
