The Foundation purchased 3305 hectares of high conservation land for Yuraygir National Park, costing $110,000.
This land protects numerous native plant and animal species and preserves the longest stretch of protected coastline in New South Wales.
30 species of mammals live in Yuraygir, including Sugar Gliders, Rufous Bettongs and Spotted-tailed Quolls. 14 bat species live in the park, and many species of bird.
Yuraygir is also home to less than 100 coastal emus, a species which is highly endangered.
The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife is the only organisation in Australia whose philanthropy is an investment in our public estate, for all to enjoy.
