Koaladoors Planting in Victoria 2010.

In 2010 the Foundation provided almost $40,000 towards Koaladoors. This project aims to create wildlife corridors to link remnant areas of bushland in south west Victoria. This will improve the genetic health and well-being of many native animals, including the Koala.

Planting species grown by local nurseries from locally sourced seed along waterways and through private properties links areas of Framlingham Forest, Mt Emu Creek, Hopkins River, Tower Hill, Naringal-Timboon corridor and Camperdown-Pombomeit. Seedlings were propagated from January to April 2010 and were planted from April to September 2010.

The community has been involved in the plantings including individuals, landowners, Landcare groups, community groups, schools and service organisations.

Education was provided by way of trained volunteers to help with conservation plantings and through the Koaladoors Junior Wildlifers group.
This project aims to create an 8km wildlife corridor through the planting of over 10,000 trees and by providing fencing where needed.
