Healing our land continues growing your national parks and planting for the future

Blog Post - Healing our land continues growing your national parks and planting for the future

Your gift will continue Healing our land through the next growth phase by restoring natural habitats and replacing native vegetation

It is hard to imagine a more testing time in our country’s history. The Australian people, its wildlife and national parks are under enormous pressure due to widespread drought, a horror bushfire season and now COVID-19.

Our spirit and resilience are being tested daily. However, we must stay strong and resolute - Aussies never give up. That is why your help is needed today...

Australia’s natural habitats and native species are in danger and we cannot give up on them

DONATE NOW

Since it was announced in late February, Healing our land has provided emergency support to our native wildlife and bushfire affected areas. Your help is now needed to grow this recovery effort further through the planting of trees and purchase of land that can be added to existing national parks damaged by the bushfires.

One of the areas that desperately needs your help are the rainforests in the Gondwana region of NSW and QLD. The effects of the summer bushfires in this area were some of the worst our rainforests have ever experienced.

It is reported that over 50% of this area was burned and thousands of native animals were affected. In Lamington National Park alone there are over 2250 species of plants and animals – 24 of which are on the national threatened species list. Lamington National Park is just one National Park within the Gondwana region, just one example of where your support is needed.

Australia has lost over 12 million hectares of national parks and bushlands to the fires and 1 billion native animals have perished.
